Dordogne, day 2

Went to a fabulous castle in the morning, Chateau Commarque, everything from paleolithic to middle ages with some good Roman bits thrown in. Met the owner on the (fairly long) walk down through the woods to get there and discovered that one of troglodyte caves that we couldn’t get in to see is larger than Notre Dame cathedral! Canoe trip down the river in the afternoon, crew contemplated mutiny,  first mate was attacked by horseflies most of the way, so I think I was the only one who really enjoyed it…

Decent supper to finish seems to have cheered them all back up though 🙂
